Ancillary Task Draft/Attempt

Here is a draft attempt at an ancillary task, in this instance a poster to promote my product.
I feel for a first attempt and with no knowledge of photoshop (of which I taught myself thanks to youtube and help from fellow peer, Charlie Davey).

I researched various products into what a music poster looks like, and how the poster must apply to the genre and style of the music.
I decided not to pursue the fancy typical stars and went for something different. The font for me fits very well. It gives it a dreamy space feel, something I can apply to the genre, as the song sort of feels like a dreamy song. And therefore the space atmosphere applies very well and fits. The image of torquay is very well lit and applies more to a 'dream' like city feel. To further emphasis the mood and feel of both song and poster.
What I learnt from making this is how crucial the poster is for first impressions on whats in store in the text. It also allows me to focus on a set audience and if the aesthetic isn't right, people aren't going to like it. i have asked about and people have said it looks very good, a good MALE friend of mine said he even liked it, which is good as if the imagery applied in the poster looks good, then the in film imagery will be much more appealing.
